Comer: $140M Deal With Saudi Govt Enriched Biden Family

During a recent interview, House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) discussed the implication of reports that President Joe Biden’s brother, Jim Biden, negotiated a $140 million deal with the Saudi government in 2012.

Jim Biden reportedly negotiated the deal on behalf of a U.S.-based construction company, Hill International.

Comer argued that these reports are additional evidence supporting the assertion that the Biden family used Joe Biden’s name to enrich themselves in their foreign business dealings.

Speaking with the Daily Mail, the Oversight Committee chairman said that “evidence continues to mount that the Biden family used Joe Biden’s name to secure deals around the world to enrich themselves.”

Comer went on to say that, because of the mounting evidence, “the Treasury Department must provide the Suspicious Activity Reports generated for the Biden family and their associates to inform our investigation about the Biden family’s business schemes and Joe Biden’s involvement.”

Documents allege Jim Biden told a former U.S. Treasury official who was working as a private investigator that he had been hired to negotiate with the Saudi government “because of his position and relationship” to then-Vice President Joe Biden, according to affidavits obtained by the Daily Mail.

The affidavits also indicate that Jim Biden was chosen to negotiate the deal because Saudi leaders “would not dare stiff the brother of the vice president who would be instrumental to the deal.”

Meanwhile, Comer is reiterating his demands for Biden’s Treasury Department to provide the Oversight Committee with any Suspicious Activity Reports regarding the Biden family’s business dealings.

If the committee does not get these documents from the Treasury Department, Republican investigators in the House also reportedly plan to subpoena the Biden family’s past business associates — especially those connected to Jim and Joe Biden, according to Fox News.

Comer also noted that Joe Biden poses a risk to national security if he is truly compromised by his family’s business schemes, which involve “dozens” of countries, including Russia and China.

One affidavit that Comer reportedly possesses cites former U.S. Treasury official Thomas Sullivan, who confirmed that Jim Biden had been hired to negotiate with the Saudi government because of his connections to the White House.

Sullivan also reportedly claimed that Jim Biden had told him “Of course, the [Biden] name didn’t hurt.”

The former Treasury official’s wife, Sara — who was also present for this conversation — has allegedly stated that Jim and Joe Biden “told each other everything.”

“I asked specifically if [Jim Biden] had attended a meeting with the Saudi Ministry of Trade in mid-February 2012 to receive the final payment for the work Hill had performed,” Sullivan’s testimony said. “He answered that, to the best of his memory, he had been at such a meeting, and that the reason he had attended was ‘because of his position and relationship’ with his brother.”

Comer also discussed his probe into the Biden family business during a recent appearance on Fox News.
